"By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail."
- Benjamin Franklin

Benjamin Franklin's famous quote can be applied to the start of club volleyball recruiting season that kicks off this weekend. If you don't prepare for a successful recruiting season, then you will not have a successful recruiting season. Here are two areas of preparation for volleyball players in the early part of the club recruiting season.

Two Areas of Preparation for Volleyball Players in the Early Part of the Club Recruiting Season:

1) Volleyball
College volleyball coaches are constantly evaluating your skill sets and evaluating your abilities in comparison to another recruit. A college coach's job is to secure the best possible talent for the collegiate program.

Rather than "playing your way into shape" in the early club season, or putting off rehabilitating a sore shoulder or back, be at your best possible volleyball self now so when a college coach walks into the gym, you are performing at your highest potential.

2) Outreach
The sheer volume of talented club volleyball players today is quite impressive. Because of this volume, waiting to be discovered by a college coach is preparing to fail. The majority of college coaches recruit players who have reached out to them and grabbed their attention because of their video.

The NCAA Division I Recruiting period begins on Saturday, January 13th - This also serves as the unofficial starting weekend of the 2018 club volleyball recruiting season.

Before this weekend, make sure you have reached out to numerous college volleyball programs that fit your abilities and academic goals, provide current video and let them know in which volleyball events you will be competing in January and February.

If you have not already done so, now is the time to prepare to be succesful this club volleyball recruiting season!"
